Collaborative Writing on the Wiki
My efforts at encouraging some kind of collaborative fiction writing effort are meeting with a resounding... silence. I'm curious - is it because the stories I've tried to start are just too off-the-wall or is it because people just aren't in to the idea? Either answer is fine, but if you have an opinion I'd like to hear it (anonymously or otherwise).

Well, the beginning "It was a dark and stormy night" really only allows for making fun of bad writing. I wanted to add things to the other stories, but, I don't know, the muse didn't visit, I guess. I don't think they were too off-the-wall, it is just that it didn't particularly grab me. Perhaps it is also a function of feeling guilty for not working....

I'm in agreement with Scott. I just can't think of a decent continuation of the stories that have been posted so far. It may be that since we are committing these to print, that people feel that they must be of higher quality than spoken shared stories.

Calling Dr. Freud, calling Dr. Freud... -Sebbo
Well, I hope people aren't taking the "written word" (typed word?) aspect of this too seriously. Given the other content (e.g. TheBunnyPage) this hardly seems like the place for serious literature; I started stories in a deliberately silly vein just for that reason. What do you want, the Spleens of Wrath? :^) — RichardWayne
Spleens of Spleen might be more appropriate, eh? -Sebbo
I like Spleens of Wrath Of course, I never actually completely read The Grapes of Wrath. -arun
