This is the wiki front page for the SevenThursdays (7thursdays) mailing list, famous among Thursday night dinner potluck goers. Random discussion and math jokes, etc.
SevenThursdays related stuff:
We now return you to your previously scheduled random discussions.
What is going on???? I'm confuzzled.
Well, you figured out to edit the page. You can add whatever content you want (a discussion of what desserts work at dinner, the secret contents of Arun's curry, etc.). For more information on how to edit or add content (and do splefty markup), you should look at the AddingNewPages link and the DotNetManifesto link. — RichardWayne.
Wow, I've never encountered this sort of setup before. Pretty cool. --Jon
In regards to the 'don't post stuff to sell' suggestion, I was wondering what the owner of this site thought about a 'bulk buy opportunity' page? I'm back to my old tricks of buying various foods in large quantity, since I have pika as a consumer. --Jon
Well, my main concern is to stop the advertisement of things unrelated or minimally relevant to the wiki — the wiki equivalent of spam. If you have a suggestion on how I can differentiate between your bulk-buy opportunity and "click here for hot XXX live naked mole-rats" stuff let me know. — RichardWayne
You should definitely allow naked mole-rat solicitations. It would be real service to the community. We all know that the naked mole rat opportunities are being suppressed in the standard media. ScottStuart
I'm not sure that naked mole rats can be considered consenting adults, given that their behavior is primarily ruled by pheromones & the good of the colony. Besides, they're poikilothermic, so they're usually "Shivering Unhappy Naked Mole Rats" in this climate, unless they have iguana rocks. MegMuckenhoupt
Still sounds like consenting adults to me, except for the good of the colony part. RobertWebster
How about making a bulk buy wiki, starting on the front page, so no one gets the idea that strictly Jon is running it. Then announce the wiki once on the dinner list and/or 7Thoisdays — HackSaw
Done. Check out the links to BulkBuy and ReUse. — RichardWayne
Hey, Jon! Yay! Like what? — EbEth
