The Alchemind Society

The Alchemind society, "the international association for cognitive liberty," is an organization founded on the premise that the freedom to control one's own mind and consciousness is the foundation of all other freedoms. You've got to admit they have a point.

I recently joined, and think that the aims of this group is nicely complementary with the aims of DeVaulDotNet. In any case, you can visit their web site at http://www.alchemind.org/.

Update, 15 August 2002

... I let my membership lapse because I wasn't getting much out of the journal. I continue to support the group because I think their goals are worthy, but I wish the quality of the journal articles were higher. Too much of the stuff was poorly researched, inadequately supported, and concerned more with opinion than fact. I know it's not an IEEE journal or the transactions of the Royal Society, but good arguments deserve good scholarship.
