Home cinema design starts with room selection. Find a space with minimal windows, a rectangular layout, and drywall surfaces. Use drapes to cover reflective walls to prevent sound distortions. Use carpet for flooring and paint the walls dark.
Get the biggest TV that you can afford. Just make sure that the room can accommodate the optimal distance to the screen. If you have a 60-inch display, then the minimum is 7.5 feet while the maximum is 12.5 feet. The center of the display should be at eye-level to prevent neck strain.
It’s best to get a 5.1 or even a 7.1 surround sound system. Several speakers are distributed across the room. This will help make the sound seem fuller and richer with good directionality. The included subwoofer provides excellent bass response. This should be enough to fill the space without being overpowering.
