An effective home gym set is one that offers both aerobic and anaerobic training. The gym must work easily without taking up a whole room. It’s ideal if it can take up little room and be collapsible becoming small enough to store in a closet or under the bed.

The aerobic exercise element of the gym can be any activity that uses the large leg muscles and the arm muscles as well as the trunk. Leg muscle use can be cycling, walking, or repeated lifting or pushing your own body weight. Using your arms to row or maneuver your body forward and backward can both be aerobic and anaerobic exercises.

Anaerobic exercise is ant type of weight lifting. That can come from pushing and pulling your own body weight. It may also take the form of stretching a bungee cord or lifting and lower yourself off a surface.
