Smoking is a recreational activity which dates back to 5000BC but only got to widely spread in the 16th century with the advent of cigarettes. In the earlier centuries, tobacco was inhaled indirectly through pipes after being vaporized on charcoal or hot rocks. Pipe smoking has upheld its existence till date, undergoing modifications over the years. Water Pipe Smoking is done using a water pipe, which goes by a number of names such as shisha, hookah and nargila.
The water pipe is made up of the head, body, water bowl, hose and mouthpiece. Tobacco is placed at the head and charcoal placed on it. The charcoal heats the tobacco, emitting smoke which flows down the body to the water bowl. One inhales the smoke from the bowl through the hose and mouthpiece. The process is repeated severally to achieve desired outcome.
