Gluteal augmentation, or butt implants, are substances or devices that are inserted into a person’s buttock muscles to make them larger or more shapely. These procedures can be performed in a variety of ways, some of which are described below:

Fat Transfer – grafting fat into the buttock area is one of the most common forms of augmentation and has been called the ‘Brazilian butt lift’. It involves taking fat from another part of your body and injecting it into the buttocks. It is sometimes combined with silicon implants to give a more natural look to the butt.

Sculptra Injection – a synthetic filler called Sculptra can also be injected into the soft tissues of the buttocks. This can be performed in a doctor’s office with almost no recovery time required.

Silicone Implants – solid silicone implants can also be used to provide a butt lift. In contrast to injections, these silicon implants are inserted surgically into the buttocks through an incision made in the butt cheeks; there is typically a four week recovery period after this procedure.
