Photography licensing can refer to two things – licensing your photography works and getting the license to work as a professional photographer.

No one is allowed to use a photo without the permission of its copyright owner. There are different types of licenses photographers issue for their photographs. A buyer can purchase the full license of a photo. It allows the buyer to use that photo exclusively and the photographer can no longer sell that photo to others. There are other types of photo licenses where several buyers can purchase the publication license of a photograph on non-exclusive basis.

You must have proper trade license if you want to work as a professional photographer and run your photography business. You may need licenses and permits based on the type and level of photography work you intend to do. For example, you may need sales permit, business license and business insurance. Check all these details carefully to make sure you run your photography business legally.
