Face masks are more than an accessory: they help protect you and others from viruses and illnesses that spread from person to person. When you buy a cotton face mask, make sure it works well and fits properly first. Then you can have fun with patterns, colours and styles.
1. Check the coverage
A good mask covers your face from the bridge of your nose to under your chin. Your nose and mouth should be fully covered at all times, with no gaps at the sides.
2. Get the right fit
Masks with elastic ear loops are flexible and sit securely on different face sizes. Adjustable loops or ties and a nose wire give an even better seal.
3. Choose quality fabric
Look for tightly woven, breathable cotton, ideally with two or more layers. Cotton is comfortable for long periods and can be washed and reused many times.
4. Have fun with style
Once you know your mask fits well and gives the protection you need, get creative. Choose your favourite colours, try bold patterns, or match your mask to your outfit.
5. Care for it properly
Wash reusable masks regularly, let them dry completely and keep a few spares so you always have a clean one ready.
